job loss and more!

I just posted about having lost my job on Friday. Today I receive a copy of the note my neurosurgeon sent to my PCP sayding I am "doing well" because I can ambulate! Says I still have SOME pain similar to before surgery (I had two lumbar disks fused), but he was weaning me off the neurontin and wanted me to stay on lyrica 75mg twice/day! Now just when I need aggressive pain management, it's being pulled out from under me. And if I go see my PCP it's going to look like I'm drug seeking (and they've already accused me once of being dishonest when it was just miscommunication). This is like descending into hell.

PAlady hi and welcome to the forum,I am so sorry that you are having such a hard time right now;I all so want you to know that there are a good bite of here that had been through the same thing.I have Crohns disease and before they finally found out what was wrong with me I to was acused of being a drug seeker as well.But that was ok because in the end I made those doctors eat crow.Please don't give up I know that right now thing's don't look good but it will get better.I all so am sorry that you have lost your job.I just love these doctors that think we are better are all better and that we no longer in pain.I would love for some of these doctors to walk in our shoes for just one day.Good luck and please continue to post welcome any time

Yes I to have been through the doubting doctors. I was lucking my family doctor always stayed on my side and believes in pain control. You really need to find a doctor that is for the patient, not an easy thing to do with what you have been through. Also I found out when I went through it that my family was the biggest help, friends just seem to go on with their own lives and when it counted my family always believed that if I could work I would.

I also lost my carrer of 22+ years to crohn's, and horrible pain, man it's as if you are down and they kick you (where it hurts) I had to file for disability, not easy 2 + years went by without income, I wounder now how I did not lose everything, it came real close. now I am somewhat stable, but dealing with the aftermath. Honestly this site is the first place I here the real truth about what happens to people with medical issues, I am following this website to seek help. is there anyone who cares?
