That's listed as a rare side effect, which is supposed to resolve when meds are discontinued. I believe I have seen one or two posts from people who experienced it.

Yes I have. I had 2 fairly serious attacks following 6mp treatment. That was a year ago, now I've been dx with chronic pancreatitis.
The first acute attacks have unfortunately scared my pancreas. Just another disease to contend with.
I hope you're not suffering.....

I have been on Imuran for about
a year after my Dx w/ CD. I was taken off of it because my RBC was dropped to 7.5. I might be going back on Imuran again. I am afraid of getting back on it because it can cause Leukemia. Has anyone gotten Leukemia from it??

My son developed pancreatitis after just 2 weeks on 6 MP. He was in the hospital for at least a month with pancreatitis.

Joan - sorry to hear that - did your son have any permanent damage to his pancreas? Did it also lead to the removal of his gallbladder? What is your opinion of Remicade infusions? I'm still recovering from the pancreatitis and have not seen the doctor for follow up yet. I learn more from others than from my own doctor. Thank you!
