why pain when my husband is on remicade

I have had pain on the right side off and on since Sept of this year. I was in the hospital for 9days in Sept. and 17 days in December. I have been on Remicade for 2 years , since Oct. 2005. I had a partial intestinal blockage on Nov 30th that cleared up and still had ongoing pain on the right side that was worse with drinking and eating. I ended up on TPN, feeding by IV and on around the clock pain meds. They said I had a fistula that had healed and no active Crohns showing from tests. This has been a pattern for me, I will develop pain and cant eat and then it is uncontrollable and finally settles down. In Sept. I couldnt eat or hardly sleep for 10days even on just liquids and my doctor finally admitted me. I didnt have a blockage or anything then. Again I ended up on pain meds, IV steroids etc. My doctor has raised the Remicade dosage amounts both times in Oct. and Dec, I get it every 8 weeks. He also has increased my Imuran medicine to 175 mg. I talked with a surgeon in December who said I may need more surgery at some point but was hesitant to do surgery unless absolutely necessary. Is your husband's pain mostly after eating or just ongoing? Mine would start after eating and when it got really bad it was ongoing and didnot subside. Is he taking any other medicine besides Remicade. I am on a low residue diet and try just to eat soft foods. It is so hard to know what to eat sometimes and my appetite still isnt normal yet and I got out of the hospital Dec 17th. I would probably keep checking with his doctor and see if the appt could be moved up sooner if there are any cancellations etc. I hope you can get some answers soon. Usually that involves more tests, like cat scans, etc.
