mibiks...
have you tried making your own protien rich stocks that you can then use to cook the rice in...make a type or rice pilaf.
if you can tolerate it you simply make a stock using chicken or beef...you should be able to get the very cheap cuts (necks, blade meat, and so on...) from the grocer. Simmer this for several hours with carrots, celery, small amount of onions (if you think that is okay)...if you use the celery leaves that is even better. Nothing wrong with adding some greens such as collards and spinach....jsut simmer the heck out of it....once it cools if you used enough protien (meat and bones) it should gel once cooled.
then just use the stock/broth the same way you would use water with the rice...maybe use a little extra but cook it the normal amount of time...i have been told that cooking rice in such a way that you have some liquid left over and then consuming that liquid is a great way to get good flora and or bacteria into the system...personally I have used this rice mixture to sooth an upset stomach and to calm down my system when hit with the big "D". I also like to make congee...it is a japanese/asian rice porridge that is very easy on the system but very filling. the internet is filled with recipes.
