hi everyone

well if its not one thing its another i now have an underactive thyroid!more medication to take!has anyone else been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid while having crohns!and if so what treatment did you have for it and for how long?

Gettin g back to the crohns the doctor wrote a letter to my consultant to explain about my circumstances and the problems i have been having with my periods and that it would be more appropriate for me to start the oral methotrexate so far she has not received a reply so i guess i shall have to wait until my consultation appointment on the 3/3/08.

I'm sorry to hear you have one more problem to deal with. I've been tested for hypothyroidism problems but luckely so far so good. Hopefully it will help you to have treatment - I know when my mom was diagnosed and treated she responded really well. Her energy shot up dramatically, and her mood and overall health improved considerably. If I remember correctly it was only a pill a day- but it made a world of difference.

Hope things improve for you too now they know what else is wrong,

Sorry to hear about the  hypothroid.... I had thyroiditis this summer... first wad in  hyper then went to hpyo.. no have to take throid meds daily to keep  my thyroid under control.   Arethey giving you anything to help control the thyroid stuff. For me.... the thyroid disease was easy compared to the CD!!!

 Know what it feels like to have ANOTHER dx.

thanks for your reply i have to go back to doctors on monday for another blood test just one more thing to deal with lol they havent given me anything yet my consultant comes back on wednesday so i will know whats happening with the oral methotrexate 1 down 1 to go lol least i can still laugh yeah
