I have a possible flare coming on (puss and a little bit of blood in my poo). I am wondering what I should eat to avoid a flare and calm the bowel? Low Residual Diet? Please Help!!

Good Afternoon, I am flaring too. I find during my flares, healthier foods don't help. Sad as it is. Toast, tea and sleep.

Hello, How about
a clear liquid diet until you are feeling better.

I have been told that peppermint is good for the bowels, like in tea. I eat egg drop soup. It is basically chicken broth and an egg with minimal to no flavor spices. The key to get the egg to look like paper floating in the broth, is to beat it before you stir it in and to stir it in only one way until the egg in in the broth. If you decide to go clockwise, continue to go clockwise as you SLOWLY pour the beaten egg into the pot of broth. Jello is good as long as you don't use one with red dye in it. I drink peach, pineapple, and apple juice. You can freeze it and scrape the pieces off like layers of slush. This sort of gives you the impression that you are eating something solid. I hope this helps.
