your own toilet paper, for public bathrooms

I carry a mini zip lock bag w/ wipes in it at all times. I do one wipe w/ public batrhoom tp, then clean up w/ the wet wipe, and dry w/ the tp. But if you really want your own, charmin sells mini rolls to go. I "go" out more than I do home though an that would get pricey after awhile. You could change your roll each time it gets low and put the leftover in your purse. You could wind it off the roll and put it in a zip lock bag...

I wait until I have used 3/4 of a roll of my own toilet paper at home, and then I simply put it in a plastic bag and place it in my purse. Easy. There have been times when I've filled one of my old pred bottles (which are quite small) with water / soapy water and carried that around too. Pour some of the water onto the tp, and use it to clean yourself.

I get a bit tired of having to cart all this extra stuff around, but it's better than having to deal with scratchy public tp. And we'd probably have more stuff to carry if we had ostomies, so I suppose we should count our blessings.

I wish I could bring my own seat and floor, those pub BR's are gross! Love it when there are no purse hooks and you have to put yours around your neck liike a plow horse.

Only here can we talk about personel issues like this, it's nice. I myself have been using baby wipes and rarely use TP, It is more expensive, but my bottom feels cleaner. As for traveling, I buy the travel size baby wipes, I am a guy so I carry a fanny pack everywhere it's the size of a small purse, but it works for me. I also carry a travel size waterless disinfect to clean my hands, I have not caught a cold or other illness for quite a while now doing this.

Another vote for baby wipes here!  We started buying baby wipes 12 years ago with our firstborn, and haven't stopped.  Although both kids are now way past babywipe phase, we still use them for a million things, inlcuding having to avoid scratchy TP!  We carry them in a zip-loc bag in my purse.

HA, I don't have gastro problems and I HATE to use public bathrooms. It is very very frightening to see some of the "stuff" in there.

You guys could form a comapany and develop travel products for people with IBD.  Great ideas and so resourceful.  I carry  puff tissues just because I can always pick the stall that is out of TP.

Dudes, I wear mine as a fashionable, loopable scarf around my neck. DUH! In the summer days it acts wonderfully as a sunshield. I find myself getting squares of tan as the day goes on. Okay, I'll stop being a silly goose.

I find the TP from work quite useful, when I'm looking for a fine sandpaper to fininsh my boat! I'd say 400 grit.

Reminds me of when I was diagnosed with CD some 10 years ago.  There I was in the hospital, with an obstruction that was slowly passing.  And this hospital's toilet paper was like a loofah!   After 17 trips to the bathroom in one day, I offered the nurse $100 if she would buy me a roll of Charmin with Aloe.  She laughed.  I'm never without a zip-lock baggie full of Charmin ever since!  And if I ever have to go back into the hospital again, I'm taking one of the big economy size packages with me.
