Check with your doctor first. Your swimability
depends on how "clean" your fistula and seton are. If you're discharging a lot, then there's a risk that you'll infect everybody else with your bugs. If your fistula is fairly clean, then you'll have no more impact on public health than a little kid would, pooing in the pool. Lovely thought! Doesn't that do wonders for your self esteem?
I think that you're more likely to get the ok for swimming if you say you'll do it at the beach rather than in a public pool. Anyway, check first, and I hope you'll get the all clear.
I recently got well enough (and approved) to resume swimming myself, and love it... especially as it's so [insert expletive] hot this summer.
