I feel guilty posting this considering there are those who are having such a time of it lately.

I went in for some bloodwork today which was a result of some sort of virus I've picked up for the last 4 days.  Anyway, my white count was 8.2 and my sed rate was 17!  Just needed to celebrate a little! yeah This has been totally without prednisone for over a month now!  Boy, I sure hope it lasts.  I made sure I did the bloodwork prior to my Humira tomorrow so I'd be at the bottom of the barrel when they took it.  Now if I can just get rid of the fever & joint pain I might even feel human again!

That's awesome! Don't feel bad about posting good news - we all need to hear the good stuff once in a while along the bad...

Imagine how depressing it would be if people only posted bad news...I'm glad you're feeling good and I hope it lasts for a super long time...and good news posts are a great benefit because it gives hope to all others...so don't ever feel bad about sharing something good.

Hi Broom Great to hear your happy about your count and I haven't a clue if your numbers are good but glad to know things are going so well for you if your going to be a pin cushion it is good to benefit from it. Still doing the smoke thing myself and cain't say I have quit yet but doing better each month. Been at it 9 weeks now. Got something going on with my eyes now taking 2 kinds of drops and some ointment at bedtime . So greased up pretty good. They did feel better today. Been reading your post and glad to see you are off the pred, I am a little nervous of going off it completely still on 5. Hope you can get your fever and pain better seems we all have enough parts to deal with.Went shopping today and my leg is a little painful but the crutch is in the corner if I need it. Great to know some support is just a old piece of wood. Still getting some snow here waiting for my tulips to start poking up. lol gail

Gail- Keep a close ties with your Doc on the eye thing. I was wondering how the smoking was going, keep trying! Yeah, I still am a little nervous about not being on the pred. As much as I hate the stuff. Maybe the next time I need it, it will actually be more effective. If I can stay off of it for the year, I'm going to schedule a dental surgery I've been putting off too. Glad to here you are out and about too! Dangit squirrels relocated all but one of my favorite tulip bulbs (peach & ivory varigated) and I haven't found out were yet! Probably took 'em in the neighbor's yard. I send my granddog out in the yard while I have coffee on my deck in the morning. He has a T-shirt that says, "Squirrels, not just for breakfast anymore". No, it doesn't keep 'em away either. But I bet the hawk I saw flying around here the last couple of days will!

That is great to hear! I hope the pred-free days to come go well for you. I would love to find a squirrel chasing tshirt for my lab mix...he loves chasing things. AND he is my tulip bulb thief..the dingbat likes to eat bulbs!
