stomach lining not shedding properly?

This is a little like playing Telephone.  My mother told me that my aunt told her that she'd been to a lecture by a Chiropractor/Nutritionist who said that the stomach lining in healthy people sheds monthly.  It doesn't for people with Crohn's, which allows bacteria to build up and cause problems.  I know that bacterial overgrowth is a problem for us, but I'd never heard the bit about the stomach lining.  Has anyone else ever heard this?  Did the info get mangled along the way?  My aunt loves a good quack, so it could be completely invented, too.  Just curious.  Nothing was said about how to fix the problem.
