 Hello old friends and welcome new peeps. Just checking in. Hope all are doing as well as possible. <- This means I would like to know how you are,,really !!!! I know I am not on here much but I still try to read when time permits. I dont post much because I stay pretty busy. My wife is still fighting cancer and I am still fighting crohns, AS, and diabetes. In between all the doctor visits there are still chores to do and when my wife is too ill  , there is only me, and for some reason dishes wont wash themselves, grass keeps growing and the bills always show up in the mailbox. Hmm, may need a bigger mailbox.  Not much funny to say lately. Those of you that know me know thats an odd thing for me to say. I still try to see the bright side though, and so should you. I keep thinking there is some reason for all of this,,and if not,,man am I going to be ticked...So anyway, take a few minutes to brighten up an old mans day and let me know how you all are doing. I'm so happy to hear from you. But I'm sorry that you and your wife are both ill. You do indeed sound very preoccupied.

It is weird...but I was thinking the other day about the quote in your signature. I couldn't remember whose signature it was, but I remembered I hadn't seen it in a while, and it's really stuck with me. So now I'll never forget it's yours.

Sniper!, So good to hear from you. Wish I had something funny for you, but you're the expert in that area. I don't post much, (never did), but I do try to check in and see how peeps are doing. Too bad we live clear across the country from you, my husband has been retired for 4 years now and has the dishes, laundry, and mowing down pretty well. Big blowup at Christmas, I still can't talk about it without crying, but don't want to be a whiner anyway. Dreams of moving to Washington have been pretty trashed, good thing I didn't retire last year, when I was thinking about it. Working keeps me moving and for the most part, out of trouble. Hope you and your wife are feeling well, as much as possible.
Ooh, here's something amusing. Our computer died last Sat. One of the guys at the Geek Squad at Best Buy was telling me about the strange things they see when people bring in their computers. He opened one up to see what was wrong and there was a snake curled up in there. He called the customer and he hadn't even missed the snake.Ewww.

hey man, glad to see ya check in.. i would think paper plates and plastic utensils. solves the dish problem, then when you burn them in the burn barrel you can throw in some bills too!.. hope you two can be well soon, randy

There's also always the option of simply eating nothing but finger foods and displacing the use for plates and utensils altogether. I'm feeling ok lately incidentally hope things pick up for you. :D

SNIPER!!! So good to hear from you! Since we hadn't heard from you in so long, I was fearing the worst. Thanks for the update. Stay strong! You and your wife are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Sniper it is so wonderful to hear from you again. I think about you and your sweet wife alot. How is she doing with her treatments? My daughters MIL is going thru her second round of chemo and is even sicker this time. Hope your wife and you are both doing as reasonably well as your illnesses permit. Keeping you both in my prayers always.

My Crohns is doing okay, but just had to have my left knee scoped on the 24th of March. I didn't expect it to hurt as much as it did, so of course I used more pain meds than normal. And I am sure you can relate that our Crohns tummys don't take to well with all those harsh pain meds. I did well the first week of the surgery, but this past week was really bad with suffering with Gastritis like symptoms. Just now getting on the mend tummywise, but now have to get on with the physical therapy. Ouch! I did want to share with you that I too have been blessed with a wonderful husband. While I was off my feet, he did EVERYTHING, and I couldn't love or appreciate him more. I am sure your wife feels the same. We are both lucky women your wife and I.

Hi Sniper Glad to see you found some time to pop in been thinking Where has Sniper gone? I know sometimes we can be pretty busy and hoping you are doing OK with your health. Yes drop in and let us know how you are. I had a resection in Jan. and painting ceilings this week so it is amazing how fast things can change. Give your wife our love and keep a big bunch for yourself. lol gail

Thanks guys,,good to hear from you all. Rando, I tried the paper plate thing. Its ok for a while, but the pots catch fire and the stirring spoons melt. My old gut does not deal well with the food you nuke in the microwave either. Now burning bills,hmmmm, could be the answer to a fuel shortage.
Nanners, my wife just finished her second round of 4 chemical chemo. The first round did not work so her doc went with much stronger stuff. Really has made her sick, but she is a fighter and we are hoping the blood work will show that she is done with this round. The other cancer, she had two kinds, will be treated with one chemical for a long long time. It was not as bad. we are hoping it will respond well. Her hair is just starting to grow back. I told her it would,,,,, though mine will not ..Thank you for the prayers, but you need to take care of those knees...
Thanks again everyone for the kind thoughts and the prayers. They mean a lot to us here. I'll try to post more. Take care everyone..

Well, whew! I had been hoping for a better update than this, Sniper. Dang, its a witch to get old. And to think I was looking forward to my Golden Years. I'm not sure where they went!

You know, you get a good dog, he can clean those pots and pans and dishes so clean you can just puttem back in the cupboard til the next meal. No better dishwasher around if you get a good'un!

As for the grass .... consider getting a goat, he'll take care of trimming the shrubbery too.

And the bills, file 13 to the fireplace is as good as it gets. Saves on energy costs.

Duct tape and WD40 should take care of the other things around the house.

Ooops, and I forgot: naming those dust bunnies makes them happy and easier to get along with!

Glad to see you are still fighting the good fight! But you do deserve a rest, wish there was something I could do to help you out, but as gas is SO expensive, its a bit of a trip to do your dishes. Hmm, maybe a robot dishwasher like Rosie on "The Jestsons" ?? I'll get on that.
Seriously, I'm sorry to hear all the health problems are continuing for you & the missus.
Here is a ><<<Prayer>>>> for the strength you will need.

C2, good idea 'bout the dog! if only sniper and the missus lived in the desert. wind blown sand is what the pioneers used, will strip the paint right off a car!

Sniper...great to see you post! I miss "the old crew" who all seem to be posting less lately.
OK everyone got to the dish ideas before me. Seriously, paper plates and disposable cookware (it's in the grocery store). Hire someone to do the lawn. I want you to have some time for you and your wife to enjoy!!!!

and since you asked....my guts are well but the extraintestinal stuff is a drag. It could always be worse though so still rolling along

AS Habs said not many of the vets are posting alot lately we have tons of new ppl here though and so the days continue

OK, I'm beginning to catch on to this now. Soooo, I need a goat named Snaper and a dog named Seven Waters. I can say my lawn is mowed by a Snaper and I always wash my dishes with Seven Waters...Now if I can put a gator up to act as a mail box, I even solve the bill problem..I wonder,,,,,if I put my new mail box on a leash,,maybe the wait at the doctors office wont be as long either. C2, dont suggest that I wear a possum on my head as hair,,,I'm not totally gray yet...

Well, I thought you used that old gator for taking care of bill collectors & the tax man. It IS the Louisiana way, afterall.
And BTW, how is the latest crop of hamsters doing on the electric generator wheels? Since your back 'puting I assume all is well with them. Or maybe you've upgraded to Nutria. You know, for something besides clothing.

Thank you Matthew and Lyn please tell Cait hello for me. Crohn'snme, watching my wife battle cancer has been harder on me than the crohns has. I think it is the feeling of being powerless to fix it that hurts the most. All I can do is be there for her as she has been for me. Together we will do what we must. The truth is no one knows what life has in store or how much time we have. We should all make the most of each minute. I'm not ready to roll up into a ball and quit, so I push the envelope as much as I dare. When my time is up, I dont want to say,,,,"Gee, I sure wish I had ,,,,,,,,"......

Sniper you put that so beautifully and it is so true, none of know how much time the Good Lord has given us, so we must live each day as best as we can. With my recent knee surgery my husband has been so amazing that it has made me cry with the gentle tenderness he has shown me. As he says, one day I might have to take care of him because he gets sick. And you can be sure I will do my very best as he deserves it as much as I. Give your wife a gentle hug for me and here's a ((((BIG CYBER HUG))) just for you. We all are here for you and Camille.
