Anniversary Trip Planned have been really sick!!!

Spent the last three weeks in bed.  We have an anniversary trip planned tommorrow to New Mexico to look at retirement property.  I am worried of course about handling my symptoms and frequent restroom visits.  However, it's our 24th anniversary and my husband is my rock!  He has been so strong through these bouts of Crohn's and my biggest supporter.  I can't let him down.  I started Humira last Saturday and have felt some relief already.   Went from 30 trips to the Restroom to 5 today!  Hooray.  But travelling to the airport 3 hours and flying on a tiny airplane make me nervous.  So wish me luck!!!  We went in January skiing and I was horribly sick.  I am hoping for a better outcome this time around.  My hubby deserves a break!!!!! Kids are gone on a tennis trip, perfect weekend to get away.  Thanks for listening and your support, you all are great!!!

Good luck! Bring immodium and if you have it or you can get it an anti-anxiety for the trip. Even if you arent afraid of flying you will be anxious about the bathroom situation and the anxiety med should help. You might want to stick w/ liquids on travel days. If you dont have an anti anxiety med you can get by tomorrow you might want to take benadryl or dramamine. Making yourself a little drowsy might take some of the edge of the anxiousness! I hope you have fun!

Crohns'nme - I hope all goes well with your anniversary trip. My husband and I plan to go to NM this summer, also to check it out for retirement. Let us know how things go. You deserve a break too!

You will have a great time! You would be in the bathroom at home anyhow right? Just kiddin. I think it is great that you are going somewhere and Happy Anniversary!!!

First, have a great trip.  I agree anti-anxiety meds will help tremendously.  I took them when I went to NM a few years ago and I was very glad I had them!  You will love NM!  The weather is unbelievable, I loved it there.  I live in PA and the weather stinks here!  Have fun and good luck in you search!

Hey Guys, In Portland,fly out in the morning. My husband and myself were reading this forum. His first time, he's very impressed with the information here. I'm so excited. The Benedryl idea is great. Thank-You for mentioning this. Drove over took 3 hours and did okay, so wish me luck. This is my third tri to New Mexico and we love it there!!! I think the break will be great and my husband is my rock!!!! Thanks for your support. Love you all!!

Hey guys!  Perfect day today, no pain and felt wonderful!!!! In New Mexico, weather is great, wonderful time, but couldn't forget about all of you guys!  Thanks for the support. We found property in Cedar Crest that we love.  Wonderful views and I am reeling in the idea that I WAS WELL TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  One week after Humira.

Hey Guys, Went to Portland spent the night so I would have time to recover in the morning. Felt bad Friday, Saturday and woke up Sunday feeling terriffic. Bought some property and enjoyed the wonderful weather. Humira seems to be doing the trick, a week in and feeling alot of relief from the pain. Still tired but my husband is very understanding and attentive. Great plane rides, rode close to the loo! LOL! If you are on the fence on Humira, it helps! For me, even sooner than Remicade!!!!!

Yay! Glad it went well! Your plane couldn't have been to small if it had a bathroom! I was worried you were talking about a Cessna. But I know what you mean, small planes are bumpier even if they are big enough to have a bathroom. I wouldn't fly without one.

It's hard to remembering how important having fun it for all of us. Sometimes you feel so bad you just forget about all the good stuff. But it's important for our mental health. Thanks for all of your support. All of you are wonderful individuals! You keep me motivated everyday!!!!!!!!!!!!
