My husband plays softball. There are about 15 guys on the team, and maybe 12 of them are married. We went to a party last night to kick off the season. There is a new guy on the team. I'm chatting with a couple of wives and saying that my hips are bothering me, so I feel I need to give a little "back" story to the new guy's wife. I tell her I have CD. Then she tells me her husband has UC. Then on the ride home, my husband tells me that another one of the guys is being tested for CD or UC, they don't know which. So in our little softball group of less than 30 people, I have CD, another wife has CD, one player has UC and one is suspected of having an IBD. That just seems like a high percentage to me. And its just a little freaky, since all of a sudden I'm the resident IBD expert. Everyone else is less than 3 years Dx, and I'm the old hand at almost 20 years in.
