Damit! 11 weeks after resection im in the hospital!!!!!

I just had 63cm of my small bowel removed and thought Id get at least a year of reasonable life back before this crap started again. I had a complete bowel obstruction w/ a reaccurance od CD at the suture site this week.

I start Remicade for the first time next week and suggestions. IM TIRED OF THIS . I have 7yo and 5yo boys I cant even throw the football with.

I feel for you. :( I had two resections in a 5 month period last year and spent far too much time in the hospital. :( I hope you feel better soon.

I'm sorry you are having trouble so soon. But I just want to let you know it will get better. As you can see by my signature, I have had 3 resections. After the first 2 the symptoms came back really soon, but I was finally able to get back my life after the third one. It just took time. Hang in there, and hopefully the new meds will be the trick for you.

That sounds awfully soon to get a reocurrance that would cause a complete obsruction. What tests did your doc do to confirm this? Do you think your surgeon could have missed the margins? I am a skeptic by nature though. I have seen folks obstruct from adhesions, hematomas, and ileus after bowel surgery. Sorry to hear you are ill so soon after, but the remicade should really help.

Hi You weren't long getting sick again . Sure hope the Rem. does the work for you . In time hopefully you"ll get the football going. For now perhaps some movies. How are you feeling ? Hope life improves for you in no time. lol gail

So sorry to hear that. I just had my resection 17 days ago. My Dr is going to start me on prophylactic 6-MP in the hopes of avoiding recurrence. Perhaps 6-MP is an option for you. Easier and cheaper than remicade. Worked very for me before the scarring and stricturing became too much. Try to stay positive, I know its tough.
