Hmmm... light lunch ideas... a brothy soup? a yogurt (sorry I mentioned that earlier too) Some crackers and cheese? Are you up long enough to seperate breakfast and lunch? I know if I sleep till 11 on some day I will just have a bigger breakfast and supper. But, I am one of those people that is hungry throughout the day and constantly eating so my advice might be a little skewed. I am trying to think in "flare mode." Ah yes, apple sauce!! Jello! If you have a sushi or japanese rest. near you, miso soup is great! It is a light broth w/ tofu in it but you can just drink the broth if you want. Your doing great Dorri! Keep it up. And your name reminds me of finding Nemo... keep on swimming....keep on swimming...

Hi dorri,
I hope you feel encouraged by all the caring people that post here. I just found this forum today. I remember the nibbling and it was hard to do even that. I have you tried Intramax? It's a liquid supplement that will absorb way faster than Ensure or boost. I don't think the high fructose corn syrup found in those things is good for anyone. Just my thoughts. Keep nibbling lady! You can do it!

Yes, thank you, you are all such an encouragement and more help then you can imagine.
I can't recall seeing intramax on store shelves? I will look.
Fitzyk, when I phone my sister and she tells my 4 yr old nephew that it's Auntie Dorri on the line he thinks I'm a fish! ha ha
Breakfast; toasted cheese sandwich
Lunch: nothing again (sorry)
Supper; Baked chicken breast, rice, stuffing, carrots, and salad.
Yes, there is a little too much time between breakfast at 9 am and supper. I will try to eat something tomorrow.
Thanx

Hey Dorri, good work on the breakfast and dinner at least. Do you know what specifically is keeping you from lunch? Is it just a lack of "hunger?" You can start small, but it's important to start somewhere to break the cycle. Have you had problems with eating in the past?

may i suggest just doing 2 hour alarms and just eatting a shot worth of food at a time (like a little kids bowl) if it is crohns issues and if it is a therapy issues then do what it takes to fix it....we believe in you dorri!
Fitzy, why slimfast powder? why not soy protein body building shakes? there are ones that have balanced nutrition in 3 shakes....

Hey Dorri,
Hang in there! Do you take a vitamin? I am not even close to flaring at my worse but lately I have noticed I am not hungry and have had mucus and more then normal amount of poops in one day. I am nursing twins so I really have to keep my calorie intake up. I find eating and/or drinking small amounts of things through out the day instead of worrying so much about
breakfast lunch and dinner works well for me. And I agree that exercise does help too! When I was pregnant with the twins and had horrid heartburn and had no desire to eat I drank lots of milk to add calories.
And in these situations eat what you enjoy even if it a slice of pizza with your husband.

Hey Navy - slim fast was an easy grab at the grocery store that was a meal replacement powder that wasn't full of lactose. Carnation had some junk in it I didn't like but I don't remember what now. If I get a smoothie out I get the soy meal replacement. I do add protein powder (body builder) in with the slim fast. Protein powder alone isn't meant to be used as a meal replacement. The slim fast at least has the nutrients to count as a meal. Some of the stuff you find at the gyms is loaded w/ fat and weight gainer stuff. Good for some crohnies probably but not me. I'd like to maintain where I am weight wise and I don't digest fats that well anyway.

Thanx again, I ate better today.
Breakfast; cheese and toast
Early supper; chicken breast, mashed potato's, creamed mushrooms, cauliflower, and salad...
(for quantity I didn't take in much, a spoon or two of this and that) it went down okay.
