Prep for Colonoscopy--medication question??

I am scheduled for a scope on Friday. Only my second.... Am I suppose to continue taking Pentasa the day before and day of? Last time I wasn't yet on any meds.

Also, anyone have an upper endoscopy at the same visit as the colonoscopy? Should I be expecting anything different from the last time which was just the colonoscopy?

I had both the colonoscopy and the endoscopy done at once. Really, its good to get them both over with at the same time. The prep you do is the same for both so there's no extra work required of you. I got an IV put in with the wonderful go to sleep drugs for the colonoscopy and then they sprayed my mouth and throat with a numbing spray.. it tasted TERRIBLE but it wasn't long after that they put me on my side and I was out cold. No pain or anything afterwards.... just a bit of abdominal cramping from the air in there.

Yes, keep taking your meds.

Good luck on Friday! The worst part of the colonoscopy is the prep.

I had both and its not a problem its the same go to sleep and wake up later.. And they were niece to let me know they don't use the same scope. ha ha I'm going on the 8th for another camera pill. They told me to keep taking my pills like I'm suppose to..

Ne Ne that was so funny!!! My hubby kept joking with me about that when I just went in for the Endoscopy, he kept saying "I bet they use the same scopes as the colonoscopy", he had my kids laughing cause something that was in people's butts would go in my mouth... It helped the kids relax from knowing I was getting a test done. karen
