I don't but I know I read about
people having it on this site. I believe it was caused from the meds they were taking.

When I was taking Flagyl, I had that metallic taste. It went away after I stopped the medication.

My husband always says he can smell a metalic smell in my breath when I am getting sick. I never notice the taste though.

I get a metallic taste & smell to my breath prior to a nasty migraine which is usually triggered by my Imuran. I've also heard Flaygl will do it too, however, the last time I took it I was on morphine so I don't really remember.

I get that taste when I am flaring and take an immodium or two then get really naughty and not eat or drink or anything. I don't know if it is dehydration or something to do w/ the immodium and lack of fluids but I got that all the time when I would flare at work. Luckily I haven't been in that situation in a long time. Immodium makes me pee a ton so I would sometimes not drink w/ it if I was going to be away from a bathroom.

Sorry to get back to this so late. The thing is I'm not on flagal or any new meds. It's not just the taste it's the feel of it too. Like my tongue is numb.
I thought maybe a yeast infection. I have this feeling all over that I have a fungal thing going on. I have asked to go back onto flagal. Doc hasn't gotten back to me on that.
Also my acid reflux is really bad.

Hmm......How many days has this been going on? I had something like that for a couple of days--except my mouth tasted like corn chips (fritos to be exact). My husband got offended that I wouldn't kiss him, but I was so self-concious! I finally fessed up and of course he was understanding.

It's been going on for about
2 to 3 months. My belly pain seems to be increasing as well. The pain is just to the right of my belly button. Had to ask for pain med for the first time in over a year. I'm used to the pain moving around. This is like little stabs in the same place.

This sounds like it is all adding up to "trouble" . Do see your dr. asap. The metallic taste is not normal, the numb tongue is not normal...and now the pain near your belly button. I'm worried about
you.
Keep us posted ok. ...but get it seen to very soon!
Love and prayers

I remember hearing once that a numb tongue could be from MS or a Stoke or mini stroke either way go see your doctor.

You know I had that a couple of times. Try to notice if it happens when you take/eat antacids. That was what caused mine, if I don't take them it doesn't happen.
I tried searching the internet like crazy and never came up with anything worthy of further investigation.
Good Luck.

Oh well that surely doesn't sound good. Problem with running to the doc. I'm afraid that I'll be told it is something bad. Last week I was in his office and he accused me of drinking in a way. My speech was slurred and I couldn't walk straight. I was aware of it. I didn't think it was as bad as he said though. I was not myself.
The thing I didn't tell him was that I might have hit my head a few times. I was having gut pain but I was also hurting everywhere. I have decided to take up horseback riding. I have a good horse. Had him for 19 years. But my mom bought a horse she can't ride. He's a young pup. And I don't seem to stay on him very well. Our last fall we both went down.
I don't want them to say I can't ride. And if my father knew just how beat up I was due to the horse he'd shoot it. I can't let him get rid of it till I can ride it. Never in all my years have I met a horse I couldn't ride. It's becoming a pride thing. My last fall did crack my helmet? I now know why I perfer really big horse's. There's air time before you hit the ground. If you'r on a small one, you just hit.
Maybe I should say something. It's got me worried now?

Um...ya - I would go to your doc as soon as you can RJ. I'm worried now too!
I was going to suggest pineapple, the bromeline (sp?) in it is a natural digestive enzyme. The only reason I suggest that is because my friend, for years, and a numb tongue and the doctors couldn't figure it out. He thought his tongue was dying! One night after eating quite a bit of pineapple at dinner the numbness went away. He researched it and started taking bromeline supplements and is fine now. Sounds silly, but it's worth a shot!
Of course, now that I hear the rest of your story, with the slurred speech and the trouble walking -- I'd say get it checked out! And be careful on that horse!
Blessings friend,
Melissa

Don't worry just had a CT scan this afternoon. As far as I know it's O.K. They said I had a concuion[sp]
No bleed No clots should be O.K. But the tongue thing can't be answered yet. It's driving me crazy. It does feel like it dead. Mangos are very cleansing to the mouth. Pinnaple I don't know. Worth trying though.
As far as the horse goes it's become a matter of pride. I doubt very seriously that he'll rear up again. I took him down hard with me. That fall wasn't easy for him either. But I was determined. If he was going to put me down again he was going too.
Interesting to note though that this type of horse has about
the same bowel issues that I do. Found out this morning that the paso [kind of horse] had diebetic issues. I'm suppose to regulate his sugar problems with cinnamon. May be that's why I feel so connected to him. If I can't get his weight in control he'll just get sicker. He's a great ride when all is going well. But he's like riding a firecracker.
