When I got out of the hospital, I thought I was doing good... but... after last night, I'm not so sure. Last night, I was in a lot of pain (mostly cramping in my lower belly with occasional sharp stabs on the right *sometimes even the left, too, for some reason*, but strange thing happened last night because I started having some sharp pain in my upper abdomen. I felt a lump there. It's gone now, but it had me kind of worried last night) ... had some really bad bathroom trouble (constipation... I can never seem to get very much out... and it hurts so bad. I often cry when I'm in the bathroom...)....

And I'm having some pain right now... I guess I shouldn't worry too much... I am going to get a colonoscopy done Monday... Hmm... What if it isn't my intestines, though? (I'm really having a hard time seeing how it can't be my intestines... The CT scan I had done at the hospital didn't show much... but it did say I had some moderate stool retention going on, so maybe that made things hard to see? I don't know...)

Need to get those ovarian cysts checked out... but I'm having trouble finding a gynecologist... :(... Either they're not taking new patients... or they're not taking my insurance.

Hey Celey - since you have an urgent situation with your cysts make sure you tell all the receptionists that when trying to make appts. Also call your insurance for a referall and have your GI or primary help you get one too. Finally, if you can't get in any where quick I would try planned parenthood. They accept insurance and have a sliding scale. Many of my friends in college went there to avoid finding a new gyno in their temporary state. They also charge very little for their birth control which may be the first line of defense to battle those cysts. Good luck!

Be careful Celey don"t let this pain go on too long. You could have a stricture or some narrowing going on. If you start having problems where you can't move your bowels, aren't passing any air in either area and/or start vomiting, you need to head to the ER pronto. Hope you get feeling better soon.

As I said... I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy, Monday... so... hopefully, things won't get any worse and everything will be all taken care of and whatnot... I mean... It's only a few days. Horrible things can't happen within a period of a few days, right?

Celey, When you make your doctor appointment with the new gyno (or any doc), make sure to let them know if you are available for last minute cancellations. They love to be able to fill in those empty spots and it could get you in there much faster. Blessings!

Horrible things can happen very quickly when infection or blockages occur or when cycsts in the wrong place rupture. So, I would suggest that you tell your doctor what is going on and let them decide wether you should wait until monday.

Celey I have to agree with sjkly.  If the pain gets too bad, dont wait.  Serious problems could occur in a very short time.

I called my doctor yesterday... Man, the pain was so bad (and I didn't go number 2 at all yesterday, I tried... but I can't do it... I did pass some gas, though, so I think I'm okay... maybe I'll have better luck today... I think I have to take some Dulcolax tonight in preparation for the colonoscopy) :(... The nurse suggested maybe I should go back to the hospital... but... I don't want to... It's very close to the end of the semester... I just have a few things I need to take care of...

The doctor prescribed me a new pain medicine (it really sucks that I have to take something so strong... Before this disease, I wouldn't even take medicine for a headache or cold) And someone was very nice to drive me up to the pharmacy to get it, so I was able to get some sleep last night without being in excrutiating pain...

Soon as the pain medicine wears off, though... Man... :(...


If I still can't go to the bathroom... when I start preparing for the colonoscopy and everything... Then, I'll definitely know something is seriously wrong, and I will get help before the colonoscopy...

If you can't get things out with the scope prep, do not stop, do not pass go, BUT GET YOUR BUTT TO THE ER!! It means you have a blockage. Hope the prep is all you need, but if that doesn't work, all the stuff you have to do will have to be put on hold. Sorry. Hope you feel better soon.

Celey - just a thought - if you are worried about classes you can take a incomplete for health reasons and then just take the final in a few weeks. I hope you feel better soon.

Good news... I managed to squeeze out a few, small stools today... (I still feel pretty cramped, but at least it's better than nothing, and it gives me hope that maybe I'll be able to get some relief from the cramping after I do the colonoscopy prep stuff)... Still having a tremendous amount of pain, though... after the pain medicine wears off...


Lately besides the cramping and stabbing sensations... it's also felt kind of like... burning almost... Earlier today, my upper abdomen felt kind of hard to the touch... Feels less like that, now... but... wish I knew what was going on...


:(... Does anyone have any idea why my tummy has this hardness to it that seems to come and go? I know I'm not imagining things... (I've actually compared tummies with my roommates and a couple of my friends... When my tummy feels hard like it does, I can really feel the difference... and they can, too...)

My brothers tummy would get hard when it was filled with poo. He had severe constipation as a young child. If you are constipated that is probably what it is but it sounds more and more like a blockage.

you still may be having some blockage.i would get a fecal odar to my breath when ihad blockages

Took some Dulcolax the other night... Had a very good (but it was diarrhea, of course) bowel movement in the morning... but... that's been it for the rest of the day.... I'm starting that drink stuff now... so... Hopefully, I'll be going a lot like I'm suppose to...

Minor pain right now... *Occasional stabs of not so minor, very ouchy pain* But... the GoLyte stuff is working... I am going to the bathroom...

Please let us know how your scope went. I do hope you are ok. As to your ovarian cysts my friend had her's bust and she calls it "the worse pain of my life," so please do not give up on that taken care of before then. As to the hardness I am curious to find out if they found anything in your scope.
