Hello,

I will start Humira therapy on Monday, the Remicaid I was taking stopped working, I was taking it for 4+ years. I have read lots of posts on Humira, I am woundering if anyone has any tips that might save me some grief and help with the transition.

if your doing the pens I recommend icing the injection area down before you do it. Also on a side note you can give it in your stomach or thigh, you may want to try your loading dose in both, two in either spot to see what hurts less.

I will be doing my third injection next week. Let me just say there is no need to fret. The spring loaded pens are a breeze. In my opinion it is way less painful then getting a IV in your hand. I haven't felt the effects of the Humria but my GI said it takes 6 weeks (third injection) to really kick start it into action.

The worst part is the unknown and I am here to tell you do not worry. In retrospect of what we deal with these injections are easy.

Hello there, Remicade stopped working for me after several years of use. Humira injections for me are very painful, I ice before and after the infection and leave out for twenty minutes after advice from others. Humira is a godsend for me, even after Remicade. I thought Remicade was great but Humira is much better! Good luck and best wishes.

Has anyone tried Humira first and then failed and moved on to Remicade or something else(Cimzia, Trysabri)?
I'm trying to figure out whether there's a solid argument to try Humira as first line therapy (due to humanized nature of antibody, better convenience, cleaner side effect profile vs. Remicade, etc.) I know docs prefer to work first with what they know best but......
