Mangosteen (Xango) Juice anyone???

i havent looked into it too much, but here is the skinny from what i've read:

it is supposed to have anti-inflammatory properties and be high in antioxidants (like noni juice, gogi (aka wolf) berry juice). it is from asia, like thailand or something. and only grows there cos of the climate. hence it is processed and bottled there, so it must travel quite a distance to get to you.

if juice is cheap, the stuff sucks. but that is rule of thumb for all juice. most juice is from concentrate and has been pasteurized. this is bad cos it is weakened in potency and enzymes have been destroyed. juice breaks down very fast due to oxidation and thus should be drunk basically immediately. so since it has to go like half way around the world, it is not, imho, gonna be as good as the claims are compared to if you drunk it right after it was made.

people i've talked to in the health and wellness field are skeptical to it actually helping people with a severe inflammatory condition, like crohn's, to where it can alleviate symptoms and reverse the damage. however i dont want to discourage you or others from trying it. i was on the cusp of doing it myself until i redid the makers diet, doing an extreme version of it, which got me over the proverbial hump.

but bottom line with anything - if works for you then stick with it. and nothing ventured nothing gained - it may well be worth the money to see if this stuff works, however it may take a few months of experimenting to know for sure. and you have to do your research to find a solid product which will give you the best chances of actually receiving any promised benefits. and then there is the money aspect to it as well....

I have tried it with poor results I may add. I find it bitter and it gives me heartburn . I drink pomegranate juice now. Its also high in antioxidants, it tastes good and its cheaper too. I am not expecting great things to happen, just better things will make me happy. Hope you have good luck with whatever you try.

I know 3 people who tried this stuff (mangosteen) . . . . WOW what a waste of money! None of them had any improvement in any of their health issues (each took it for a different ailment). . . . and they took it for months. Additionally . . . it is advertised to "boost your immune system" . . . not what someone with an autoimmune issue really want to do. So if that is a true statement . . . . it goes against the immuno suppressants many of us take. Blessings!

I seriously would reconsider forgoing your medication... It would probably be best if you continued to take your medicine and drank the juice...

A word about juice, though... I hear papaya juice is especially good because it has enyzmes that can help you digest foods. I've drank that before, and it tastes really good. I think it also helped me to feel a bit better, but here's the key...

I was still taking my medicine at the time. What the juice did was just a small bonus. Any bonus is better than no bonus... If it wasn't for the medicine, I'd probably be in very bad shape.

Been there, done that. My vendor swears by the stuff, and has lots of testimonials . The sales folks are aggressive---Costco and Whole Foods have it cheaper, but the real Zango is supposed to be the whole fruit. Intense anti oxidants in the skin, I guess.
After faithful usage of the pleasing taste and wallet emptying experience, there were no changes. Nothing worse, nothing better....

I just read an article today that says all these juices, Xango, Acai etc are all nothing but a BIG HYPE.
