erik sorry about
your friend....No there is nothing normal in the way we have to live. Before my life was normal maybe upset stomachs here and there but that was all, I never got sick I worked in a doctors office around all these people where even the doctor got a cold and me nothing. So yes it was a shock when one day I was feeling exhausted and then it went into weeks I finally did a blood test to find that i was anemic and then came the test and the answer that I had crohns, the medications and now the change in life where you always look for a bathroom, the anxiety of going too far of what you can eat when your out,the pain....my cousin has had crohns since she was young she has been in and out of the hospitals her whole life never had children was engaged once but he couldn't handle it, walks with a cane from the arthritis some days she can not leave her house I look at her and it scares me.....sorry I don't mean to depress anyone....I also guess we learn to live with this disease that it becomes just normal for us if you get up one morning and you feel great and your day goes pretty well you feel like you accomplished something.Normal is different for everyone if that makes sense.
