I've always had issues with my stomach, and have been diagnosed with severe lactose intolerance since long before they had any products out there to make that part of my life easier. After missing half of work this year, I finally decided to head back to the doctor, and I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy and a ent (?) towards the end of June.
I have been receiving B-12 shots for a defieciency for several months now, and when the doctor performed a Celiac panel, he said my white blood count is high, and that I've been running a fever. Oh, the Celiac Panel came up negative, but of course they still have to do the scope to be sure.
So we're kinda thinking Crohn's. I've been miserable with gas, cramping, and a feeling like I'm carring a load of rocks in the bottom of my then eventually diarreah. No rectal bleeding lately. I usually go 1 or two weeks feeling okay, then it starts all over again.
Since I won't have the test before before I go on my once in a lifetime trip, my request is for advice. What kind of foods should I avoid? I'm pretty sure the undercooked corn did me in on Sunday. I'm staying in the jungle of Costa Rica for 10 days. What should I bring along? Is it okay to live on Immodium, or am I just plugging my self up and prolonging the problem?
Sorry for so many questions, but I'm worried.
