I have had several days of severe pain in upper stomach, bloating and nausea. I cant eat without causing real discomfort. Now its brought on a mid-month bleed. Does this sound familiar to anyone.

Mine was 10 days early this month with no crohns symptoms. The whole "lady stuff" can just be so irritating sometimes!

When I'm in a flare, my period is ALWAYS off. I have breakthrough bleeding for days before my "actual" period is suppose to start. My GYN says she's not concerned about
that. When the body is in disarray from an illness like Crohn's, the reproductive tract can get thrown off balance.

Yep, every Ladies week, I have the most terrible pains and bloat. It was noticed every time I had a severe obstruction, I was always on my period! Wonder if Menopause may slow this disease down!

Hi, I am new here. I am happy that you started this post as this was going to be one of my questions. I notice every time I am having a bump in the road, increased D, abdominal pain and joint pain, it never fails that I will also have break through vaginal bleeding. I also have endometrosis but my GYN does not feel the endometriosis is the cause of the bleeding as I have that under control. It is just so interesting how this disease can mess with our bodies.

I know how it is. I always get worse that time of the month. My joints, stomach pain, and I cant eat anything. I had surgery for an anal fissure and I have been doing better but since I started my period this month the pain has been really bad. I dont know if it means the surgery didnt work or if it means that its that time of the month and everything gets bad. I am kinda worried about
it.

If I'm not on the pill, my periods are a complete mess. I also have PCOS though. I only have about
2 periods a year now, I skip them with the birth control pills. They are just too painful, and my PMS is just awful. Plus, losing blood isn't great for me anyway. It's been really nice being able to do it this way!

Crohn's definitely is linked to our menstral cycle in aggrivating/exacerbating our symptoms of the disease...this can also be an issue for IBSers as well.

I had the exact same issue and my period seemed to last forever! I am in a flare, so I am told that this is normal. Of course, that does not help with the pain and aggravation.
Hang in there and please know that you are not alone

Hi I am afraid the end of my cycle has been over a year now and it has been a not so good crohn's year with obst. and resection . I find one problem was it is hard to know if the sweats were from CD or menapause. Found that frustrating . By the sounds of things it must be fairly common. I know BC was not available for me bacause of high blood pressure which lowered as soon as I went off the pill that was a long time ago hope the pill is easier to take now, I had temporary blindness from the pill so watch your blood pressure when on the pill lol gail

I'm glad this was posted! I just realized a connection--even on birth control, my period still gets a bit wacky while in a flare. It lasted nearly twice as long this past time, and i haven't been on medicine for about
a month, so the timing makes sense. Also get a bit of break through bleeding.

Hi, I'm menopausal as well....haven't had a period in one year and a half ( except for the day my daughter had her baby....same day I had a period that lasted one week....go figure!)....my CD has not been good either this past year in fact is getting worse... I too cannot tell if the sweats are from a upcoming flare or a hotflash.
