I have always had a stabbing pain in my lower right side. The last few days I've had a burning pain a little higher in my right side. I've learned to deal with the first pain I listed. I sleep with the heating pad so much that I have red burn marks on my stomach. The "old" pain hurts a lot but if I push on it sometimes it seems to help ease it up some. I also curl up in the fetal position to help. But this new pain isn't the same as the "old" one. It is a burning pain that comes and goes, but nothing helps ease it up. My doc has given me pain meds for my "old" pain but it doesn't make a dent in the new one. I have been taking Pentasa for a month and my doc added Entocort last week. My problem is, I'm not sure if I should ignore the pain or hit the panic button. It has been some better today and I've only had the new pain for the last 2 days. I've been soooooo sick this week. I haven't been eating anything and I'm still running to the bathroom 4 times every morning. I know the doc wants me to wait to see if the meds will help and I'm to call him in 3 weeks now. Do I wait and see if it helps or alert him of the new pain? Or should I wait a while and see if it goes away? I hate to call because my doc is 9 1/2 hours away and I'm afraid he'll want me to come in. That trip costs me $1000- what to do???
