I hope there's something to that..stem cell research for diseases of this nature is wonderful I think.

It's what I'm putting all my hope into so no one has to suffer anymore...gawd I hope this will be the answer we're all looking for (the cure).

The problem I see with stem cell treatment is it is so extreme! They have to basically kill you to help you. They give you chemo to kill your immune system, then treat you and you have to remain in absolute isolation for sooooo long! I can't imagine going through that.

You're confusing a stem cell transplant with infusing mesenchymal stem cells.  This is just an infusion of mixed adult stem cells from multiple healthy donors that have universal compatibility (like type O blood) so there's no chance of rejection by the host's immune system.  No chemo is needed.

I wouldn't call mesenchymal cells a cure, persay. They did a wonderful, wonderful job of helping me though! It's what I hold on for each day I stress out about being on Tysabri...
