Okay so I've had 5 infusions of so far. After infusions 3 and 4, my poop was more solid than normal for about
a week. I always took this as a good thing but after my last infusion my poop was like rock solid for a few weeks. I got more remicade this last time - 7.5 instead of 5. I feel weird complaining about
my poop bing too solid but I thought this was weird. Anyone had a similar experience or know why this could be?

Yeah, been there, actually still am.
You have probably been adjusting your diet to cope with the uncontrolled Crohn's. Now that the Remicade is starting to work (usually happens after about
3 dosages), you need to adjust it again. I found that I have to play a balancing game with my diet based on how my gut is doing. When the Remicade has everything under control, I have to have a certain amount of fiber and the like to keep things moving. When the diarrhea is on the move, I have to counteract with more "binding" foods. Sort of one of the things they don't tell you about
. It's good that you can add more foods to your diet, but the Remicade changes things enough to make it tricky.
I even have to drink soda and milk sometimes to keep things going. Soda usually causes me big problems, but sometimes I have to use it to balance out the constipation.

I have the same issues, Dr suggested Mirax when it becomes a brick. I have no normal poo, like water or a brick. Such choices!!!

Hey, thanks so much for posting this. I'm on Humira and I've been having the same problems. Like you, I was reluctant to post about
them because it felt so weird complaining about
solid poo after a decade of d.
Matthew, you mentioned "moving" and "binding" foods. How do you keep things moving? I'm gradually introducing more fibre and can have about
two slices of wholemeal bread a day, but it's a gradual process and I really don't think I could eat more fibre than I am.
libby, I hope you don't think I'm hijacking your thread. I'm guessing you'd be asking the same questions; if not, many apologies.
Ivy.

No problem ivy, I would be asking the same questions!
I tried adding a little more fiber and things have gotten better but I'm not sure if its from adding more fiber or just that its been a few weeks since my last remicade and its starting to wear off a bit. I did call my doc and she really wasn't concerned, she also suggested I could take a stool softener but I never did. I guess I'll just have to see how things continue to go over the next few weeks, I'll be interested to see what happens after the next infusion...maybe I'll have to start devouring all the foods I typically avoid to find a happy middle :)
