I know a lot of people here don't really get much relief from their medications, and a lot of times we're stuck going to the bathroom many many times a day and "medicine that works" only means that our insides aren't gushing blood everywhere, but not much of an improvement otherwise.
I was on an anti-spasmodic, for bladder problems that had been acting up, and noticed that I only had to go to the bathroom once or twice a day while I was on it. That was nice!
Now I'm on muscle relaxers every day because I have some sort of rebellion going on in my muscles and I'd be crippled with pain otherwise. I noticed that it has the pleasant side effect of making me not go to the bathroom....at all! I can literally go days now without #2, it feels terribly uncomfortable because my stomach gets big from all the food sitting around in it, but if I take some miralax or philip's I'm able to go and it won't hurt.
I usually don't see much talk of muscle relaxers or anti-spasmodics, has anyone else tried them and had less trips to the bathroom? My GI doctor said that as long as I am able to go with the aid of miralax or other non-stimulants to keep taking the muscle relaxers, and if I have trouble going to switch back to the anti-spasmodics, so it sounds pretty safe.
Just curious as to whether this is effective for anyone else, and thought I'd share since it might help some other people too.
