I've had several bouts with skin yeast infections after abscess operations. Ouch!! Diaper rash hurts. One diflucan worked for a few days and then it would come back. My Doc suggested I see an Infectious Disease Doc because of persistent infections in the abscess area, and when I told her about
the yeasties, she wrote me a huge script
for diflucan. One a day for seven days and repeat this a week later if needed. Yikes!! But it worked. Fortunately a second week wasn't needed. Infectous Disease Docs know a lot about
weird fungal and yeast stuff and she didn't blink about
hitting it hard. If you ever have something weird that your regular Docs can't figure out, see an infectious disease doc -- they are detectives and tend to think outside the box.
