First of all, all you MEN that are reading this....  Dont say I didnt warn you...   I am about to get a little graphic....

Yeah so can somebody tell me if I am supposed to have oh hmmm, I am trying to word this just right...    Okay, here goes nothing...   Uh am I supposed to have a hole in my who-who?   I mean YEAH I know I have the love hole, the pee hole, the bartholin gland holes...   But....    I checked my junk out tonight and I see a NEW hole...   Its small, about the size of a pencil lead, its right under my love tunnel hole...    

Oh, I was not just looking at my va-jay-jay for the heck of it...   I have had bleeding (spotting) from my crotch almost every time I have a bowel movement.   Oh and since I am just letting everything out, I have had dampness in my undies...   It smells like pee!   or something....

So, I called my gyno today, I cannot get in for like 2 weeks....    

I guess I am asking for your opinions...    Should I just wait the 2 weeks and see the gyno, or should I talk to my GI about it?    Its my crotch, not my butt...  So, I dunno if this is the GI's area of expertise...

Thoughts?

(PS, my honesty is my best and worst quality...   So I am SORRY if I offended anybody)

PSS...Guys...   I TOLD you this was going to gross you out.....

It sounds like a fistula. I had one before but it was fixed with a heavy dose of antibiotics and steroids via IV after I had an ER surgery done. They do tend to leak so until you get it treated maybe try pads for light flow? Just make sure and keep an eye on it until you DO get something done. I would make sure and keep mine drained and dry. I also would apply a small amount of antibiotic ointment after each time I cleaned it--several times a day. You might want to try talking to your GI as having a fistula can be an indicator of the severity of your disease and may indicate need for new treatment. My GI said mine showed the severity of my case so we had to try some new things to make sure it didn't happen again.

Anyway, it isn't gross. Things like this just happen with this disease. You can say anything you want on here. I'm pretty sure most of the members here have heard it all so be as graphic as you need to be!!! :)

Sounds like a fistula to me as well...how can you not be graphic, this disease is so ugly, it's bad enough that it is what it is but for it to mess around in other areas as well is just plain sad...you should see if you can get in to see your GI sooner than your gyno, there's a good chance your gyno will just end up sending you to your GI anyway.

So I called the GI today, he thinks it sounds like a fistula....   But he needs to confirm.    He started me on antibiotics too....

So, do I have to have surgery if it is indeed a fistula?

I agree it sounds like a fistula in the perineum. I have a peri-rectal fistula. And I agree that the GI Doc is better or even a colo-rectal surgeon -- just make sure they are experienced with CD.

There are treatment options depending on the track of the fistula, meaning where it starts and where it empties out. I have 2 setons in mine to keep it open so it won't clog and abscess. Surgery is sometimes an option but not always. The antibiotics are good for now. If you get a fever or feel a lump down there, call your Doc and demand to see him/her immediately because you could have an abscess. I'm praying you don't get one and it heals quickly!!

I agree, that's what it sounds like. There are medications they try first, to see if they can close it. There are surgeries (I had a fistulotomy to close a rectal one). But I know they'll go all the medication routes usually first. Since healing isn't exactly a feature that comes with these very well, after surgery (mine took a year to heal up).

Agreed - Fistula. I've had 3 - One started as a 2" x 2" abscess that was emergency lanced in the ER (god that hurt!) under a tad bit of morphine and numbing medicine. It drained and turned into a fistula that channeled from my rectum to the lip part of my hooha! ;) Then, I developed one about an inch from it and then one in the perineum. Yours sounds like it's in the perineum.

Def call the GI and get to see him. Antibiotics typically stop the mucous and slow the blood. You shouldn't need surgery. They want fistulas to heal from the inside out. Some surgeons will do surgery on them, but most advice as it's not a pretty surgery.

Like others said... if you get a fever or feel it get hard and sore or tender, call, it might mean it's become an abscess, which can happen VERY easily. Keep the area very dry and clean. I always wore a pad. Let it drain, don't try and put ointments on it, you want all the junk to drain out.

GL! I hate fistulas!

Dear Curly,

I am not grossed out...maybe because I am a woman or maybe because I have had many issues myself lol.  I have gyn problems and Crohns's and my GI has been helpful about my gyn issues at times and my gyn has been helpful about my Crohn's.  The bowels and uterus are right by each other.  Whenever I have a procedure or something important done I consult both of my doctors about it.  Sometimes one issue triggers problems with the other.  I find my problems often can go hand-in-hand.  So go for it and ask your GI...it is worth a try.  It works for me.  Good Luck!

So I have an appointment to go to the GI on Thursday.... I am ready to go and get this show on the road... If it is a fistula, fine... But I want to get it fixed. I am a single girl out on the prowl and I cannot have my who who out of commision... Just in case opportunity knocks.
Oh and the best part, I think I am supposed to get my period this week... I hope I get it tomorrow, cause otherwise I will still be bleeding on Thursday and I will have to move out my appointment.... I am just ready to figure out what the heck is going on in this hallway of mine and ready to get it fixed!
