I don't know what to do. Everything I've read says it's ok, and even recommended, to get the flu shot (killed virus) but not the nasal one. I asked my GI and he said not to get it. I'm going to be tutoring elementary kids (and when I was in the classroom I got my shot every year) and I think it would be REALLY bad if I got the flu. I'm going to be extra careful to avoid other things too. BIG bottle of hand gel, some lysol, and a diluted bleach solution in a small spray bottle to wipe things off. It's probably overkill. I'd wear a mask, but many of these kids need to see how to properly pronounce words. I feel like if I'm probably going to get the shot anyway, should I even call to talk to my GI again? Maybe he can explain his reasons. I would think it won't be AS effective as for people not on Remicade because the immune system won't respond as aggressively as it might without the Remicade, so he might think it's a why bother situation. I'm thinking too much and I should just ask again, I just hate confrontation.
