Anything stronger than Tylenol that is non-narcotic?

I don't tolerate pain meds well at all. I am VERY sensitive. I don't like the "loopy" feeling they give me.  Before being diagnosed with CD, I always took Advil (ibuprofen.)  It worked great, but I haven't taken it in a couple of years because of CD.  Tylenol only helps a LITTLE for the body aches/pains.  Is there anything else out there that is non-narcotic, helps with pain, and won't make me feel any different?  Thank you so much!  Blessings, Julie :-)

You might ask for Ultram (Tramadol). Many folks take that for pain. It doesn't agree with me personally, but that might be one option for you.

Toradol makes me feel yucky, like the flu..
Personally, I take Tramadol. But it can make you loopy, especially when new to it. Of course, that feeling does diminish with more than very short usage..

Have you tried Excedrin Tension HEadache? It contains ONLY tylenol w/ caffeine. It may help a tiny bit more than plain tylenol.

I love Darvaset, that's non-narcotic and stronger than tylenol.

Yep, Toradol is a NSAID - cautions mention stomach ulcers and bowel disease and say to take only with doctor's supervision and that the doctor should weigh risks vs. benefits.

Yes Toradol is a NSAID. My daughter was taking that in pill form once and I tried it but it made my stomach really upset. Tears up my stomach in shot version too.

Darvoset is about the only non-narcotic pain reliever that is not an NSAID. I looked at about twenty or so different ones. It is said to be about as effective as aspirin (but there are reports of good results from users) and can be found in combination with acetaminophen (Darvoset N). You might have more luck finding a tolerable narcotic-type pain reliever if Darvoset does not do the trick.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I've tried a couple of these, all making me feel loopy. I am so sensitive to these meds, it's silly! I've never tried Ultram before...... Also, I have taken excedrin for headaches. Now I just take Tylenol and have a cup of coffee with it. Hopefully I will stumble across some med that will help. Blessings, Julie

Yes, it is one of the milder Narcotics. I just wanted Julie to understand that it IS an opoid and a narcotic and she will feel the effects of the drug. Also I dont want people to think they can takeDarvon and test negitive for opiods on a wizz quiz. Some employers frown on that even if you have a script.

Many Doc's in my area use Ultram or Tramadol, I have been told to use these after and if Tylenol does not work. Make sure you are not getting a script for one of the types that contain Tylenol. It makes me wakefull sometimes, but rarely loopy. I use this as a last resort, it seems to cause C for me sometimes.

     I was told to take Tylenol with it once, if the Tramadol alone wasn't quite enough.

    A caution though, I have noticed some signs of physical dependency in myself to this medication. When I run out, after a day or so, I have severe allergy attacks & occasional bouts of Big D. Nothing fatal, but just because its not Narcotic, it doesn't mean there aren't dependecy risks. Most meds to have them anyway. Like our old friend, Prednisone! LOL
