Is this much pain this often normal?

I was hospitalized in April after my Asacol and Entocort treatments weren't really working, so when I was released I was put on Prednisone right away along with regular Remicade treatments.  I have finally finished my last tapered dose of Prednisone, but nothing seems to be any better...has anyone else had this much constant pain for this long? I just don't feel like I am getting any where...and as gross as this may be to some the pain I have the week before my period omg you might as well shoot me now, I don't know what to do...can anyone offer me a suggestion, or let me know if they have experienced anything like this?  Should I be asking about anything specific that may improve things or am I just supposed to assume that this is as good as it gets...that I will be stuck on vicodin and remicade the rest of my life with flare ups not under control?

I don't know. I know I haven't had a single day without pain since February. I was on a weeklong episode of Pred but I didn't notice anything other than feeling shaky. The week before, during, and after my period is the worst time. It's when the stomach and the back and the hips and just recently, my knee have all agreed to cause as much havoc on me as possible. Just be happy one of your doctors gives you pain meds. After my surgery in Feb. I tried telling the doc that since I was on six different meds, the pain killer I was on kept makin' me puke at home. He didn't do anything about it and when I asked for a refill, I was told I shouldn't be having any pain at all and if I really was, I should get OTC pain meds. I've come to the conclusion that not having insurance makes doctors treat you really really bad. I've also figured that this is just how life's gonna be for some of us. I keep hopin' that some morning I won't hate my body anymore. Probably not anytime soon. :-P I am hoping that at some point, I'll figure out a way to deal with the pain. I hope yours gets figured out soon.

For me it's a times and seasons thing. I can go for months with little to no pain, and vise versa. I would suggest a liquid diet for awhile. I had to recently go on liquid for 9 days. I now need surgery in a couple of weeks. But, try no food. Your gut may need rest.
