anyone know?
I was on one that is a big no no (clonazepram sp?), now i am off that for anxiety. I keep seeing do not take lyrica with alcohol and I am on Humira but it has been months and I just want one glass of wine or one beer. I am not talking a binge just maybe one drink. Drinking never hurt my CD but with these meds I am unsure if I will make myself sick. I thought I could skip the lyrica when i had the glass of wine. I really want to have wine with my Thanksgiving meal.
anyone have somewhere i can get real facts? I am just not sure if the alcohol would be a problem or just small amounts would be ok?
thanks,
Karen

I'd trust a pharmacist or your doc before I'd trust anything I read on the net when it comes to that.

Humm.... I gave up alcohol when symptoms first started almost two years ago. When I drink I get real sick now. How do you do that???

I will ask the pharmacist.... that is a good idea. I just don't want to hurt myself but one drink sure would be nice :) Karen

I don't know much about
Lyrica, but I think that skipping one pill wouldn't work; lots of drugs will stay in your system for a long time, even if you skip them for a few days. Definitely ask your pharmacist.

Just on humira, pentasa, and codeine. A glass of wine here and there (had 2 today) or some rum in my hot apple cider has not hurt me at all. Good idea to check with pharmacist though.

codeine and alcohol are a real no no.
There is a website that will let you list your meds and check them for interactions. It checks for food and alcohol interactions as well. I cant remember the name of the site right now but if you google drug interactions it is one of the first hits.

thanks everyone! Funny thing is one bottle of lyrica I got did not have the alochol warning then another did. I wondered how important it was. Kasper87 , I am on: Humira Effexor lyrica (this is a med I do not need, it just helps dull the fibro pain some and i am not sure how well it even works so I am thinking of stoping it to see if it was helping or not) soma (at night only, I have skipped this in the past when I had a glass of wine etc. and seemed to be fine) Was on other but am off them all.... sjkly , I too was looking for a website too but could not find it.... i've done several searches. The bottom line is that one doc may recommend one thing and a pharamicst another.
Personally, my doc has always talked to me about
timing. For me--and this again has been for ME---absolutely no alcohol with antibiotics other than cipro and no alcohol with flagyl. When I was on flagyl and had a wedding or something coming up, he told me to stop the med for a week so I could enjoy the wedding and then go back on a few days later. But that's MY doc.
I've never really been on narcotics or pain killers before. I'm going to check with him again about
the codeine and occasional drink.
Ask away!
