a question for the Americans

i couldnt imagine waiting in line just to vote. yes it is fantastic right to have and is something we take for granted here. supposedly the lines in the preceding days at some places were reported to be more than 6 hours long! i hate waiting in line at disneyland let alone to vote. that is why i do absentee ballot. you get it early. you mail it in when you want. i dont know why more people dont do it. total convenience and you miss the lines and save the time in your busy life. living in california my state historically votes for the democratic party (but conversely my county is overwhelmingly republican) so in the grand scheme of things it doesnt matter too much since i do not live in what is termed a "swing state" however i'll still cast my vote for whomever and whatever i deem is the lesser of the two evils (sorry to be cynical but very seldom can you rally behind some one 100%).

I had a little wait under 10 mins.

I had very little wait but if I was sick I would have asked someone to hold my place in line while I used the bathroom, or asked a poll worker if I could go ahead because I was sick. My state also allows early voting so I would have done that if I anticipated problems.

I always do the mail in ballot. My whole family does. Much more convenient!

Since I have been admitted to the hospital several times as a "surprise" in the last month, I thought it was wise to do an absentee ballot. My state doesn't do early voting, but we can do absentee ballots. But since I wasn't in the hospital, I went with my husband to keep him company in case there were lines. We walked right in, no lines.

My Mom, who had CD, was a poll worker. She would have to be at the polls before 6 and wouldn't be home before midnight some elections. I never thought to ask how she handled it, but she did somehow. I guess, it was her pride in the process.

I vote absentee!

I waited at my school's student center for about 20 minutes, but I had my fiance help me to stand and just bit the bullet(though I am feeling much better than before so it was okay). I think the outcome of the elections, or at least since I started watching it at about 9:00 pm, took longer than the time I had to stand in line.

I always do early voting. I think the length of the wait was not so long in many places. As with anything, if they have a problem of any kind, the wait time goes up. But if you can vote early, in my state they give you a two-week window, and you can usually walk right in, not wait for more than a couple of people.

We also voted early, only had maybe a 10 minute wait at most.

I have gone where I had a long wait though, thankfully I was feeling well that day. Otherwise I would have had to leave! I think if people can wait in those ridiculous long lines I've seen for special coffee, they can wait in line to vote for the next person to run our country! But if you can find a way to not stand in a long line, by all means that's the best! LOL

In my area early voting was insane, but election day voting was fairly light.  The poll workers at my precinct said that they were really busy in the morning, but when I arrived at noon I was able to walk right up and vote.

I only had to wait for 20 mints in line small town. - My daughter came with so If I had to run then she could keep my place.

I know that I have already posted on this subject, but I just wanted to let everyone know how proud I am that you all voted. It doesn't really matter to me which way you voted, but that you took the opportunity and did it. We as disabled individuals need to let our voices be heard and this is one of the ways that we can do so. I live in a state that typically votes differently from the political views of mine, but I still vote. People always ask me why I even vote and I let them know that if you do not vote, you can not complain. I am only 29 years old, but I am grateful for the right and for those that paved the way for us do so. Thank you veterans and everyone that voted.
