Hi everyone! I have a question and wonder if anyone else has experienced this . My son has been complaining that he has been visiting the bathroom frequently feeling the need to urinate and in fact not being able to. He says he does urinate but on a number of occasions a day he feels like he has to go but doesn't. He had a urine test which was negative for a UTI. Are there other things that can cause this sensation. He was diagnosed two years ago and after developing antibodies to Remicade he is on Humira since August. He has not yet achieved remission during these two years and is on the books for a colonoscopy in January. Anybody have any ideas about this. Thanks in advance.

Hmm, I had a UTI in July of this year, and ever since I've noticed a much, much greater urge to urinated. I always considered myself having a strong bladder, but now I feel like I'm going quite a bit and I do get the urge sometimes without having to actually go. I can't be of much help, since I'm a bit confused about it myself. Hopefully some others will have some insight.

my twin sister has ulcerative colitis and was dealing with what she thought was a UTI..turned out it was actually kidney stones..u may want to get your son checked out for kidney stones!

I always feel like I have to pee. Ok, not always, but A LOT. Sometimes I have to go and sometimes I don't. I believe it's associated with the crohn's, but the only time I ever mentioned anything about it was about 10 years ago. They wanted to stick a catheter into my bladder to check something and I wouldn't let them and so that was the end of that. I've just learned to live with it. If I ignore the feeling it usually goes away, so I don't know if it's more in my head than anything or what, but I DO think there is something to it. I just don't know exactly what. Also, if I "really" do have to pee and I wait to long, then it spawns a whole bowel episode, so I never wait if I don't have to. Maybe that adds to my always going if I even think I have to go. Sorry if that's not much help.

Yes, my son has reported this off and on most of his life. Anytime we have had him checked for a UT infection it comes up negative. Also had him checked when he was young for T1 Diabetes. Negative. Thankfully, it comes and goes and is not a constant issue. I think there's a connection to the DD. sad

Thank you everyone for responding. I think to be safe I am going to make him an appointment with a urologist. This sensation can't be coming from nowhere.
