someone please help me and tell me what this horrible pain might be!!

I have episodes of obstructions. Usually they clear up on their own, but occasionally I have to go to the ER, for fluids of pain management. The last time sounds just like your trip, minus the enema. The doctor told me I was constipated. Only I haven't had a formed stool in a decade, let alone been constipated. I too looked like I was 9 months pregnant but was sent home in tons of pain. Of course I was really obstructed and continued that way for 5 more days. Finally, something let loose. I went into the bathroom looking 9 months pregnant, and came out looking like myself and without any pain.

As I said, I have these episode and am used to dealing with them. I have spoken with my doctor at length on what to watch for and when to go to the hospital. For anyone who is not used to this, I highly recommend being on the safe side and returning to the hospital at the first sign of any worsening of symptoms. If you start to vomit, or think that you are getting dehydrated, or if the pain gets too much. Don't worry about what the doctors think or what the idiot doctor said. Your health and comfort are all that matter.

Wow I am shocked they let you out of the ER with this...normally they do not do that with crohns...
I am really worried that you have something more going on.

I am sorry you are going through this. Last time that happened to me (which was shortly before I was officially diagnosed with Crohn's), I just went on a pure liquid diet for almost a month (it consisted of Ensure, Gatorade and broths) and the pain and bloating went away on its own. It took a while, but it worked. Can you get in to see a specialist or your regular doctor asap? Those ER doctors sound like jerks, but like the previous posts said, if your condition gets worse, don't hesitate to see them! I hope you feel better soon. ((Hugs))

I'm not feeling any better, still having cramping, still bloated and distended, still drinking tons of water, and when I go to have a bm, i have this strong urge, and my tummy hurts soo bad, then i sit there, and i have to literally push it out, which is very uncomfortable, and then, all that comes out is like soup, thick soup, that is, sorry i know its gross, if i was constipated, then why are all of my bm's soupy? I dont get it at all.

Please go back to the ER or to an urgent care center. It sounds like you may be dehydrated and that is just not good. You can try to take your pulse. If your heart rate is up, then it is a good indication that you are dehydrated, that and your other symptoms. The likelihood that the same doctor is on is slim and if he is, please ask for another doctor to be assigned to your case. YOU are the patient and you have the right to ask for a doctor who you can feel comfortable with.

These are not signs of IBS, something is going on that is not normal and you deserve to not suffer. Please go back to the hospital or go to another hospital if your insurance allows that, but somehow, get help. You don't have to be in pain.

I am not in the hospital, i am still having some pain, and still very bloated, able to pass some gas now, but not all of it. I think that it may be getting better for this time around. Thank you suzanne again for all of your help :)

Hey Everybody,
Just an update, nomore lose stools, in fact I cant go again, and it was just yesterday or the day before that I had D, like soup, it was gross. I would say I am thoroughly constipated, my belly has not gone down at all, some pressure too feels like i have to go, but can't, however, there is no sharp pain yet. I do feel sick because im sooo full, and i still cant stop drinking water, because Im soo thirsty, and my mouth dries up really quickly,
Luckliy today is my doctors appointment, at 12:15, any suggestions of what i might tell him exactly, or should I just tell him the way that I have been feeling, the last couple of days. He is totally convinced that I do not have crohns because the SBFT, and the colonoscopy did not show anything.

Make sure they take your pulse, blood pressure, temperature and ask to have blood work run. It might not be CD. It could be a kink in the bowel that unkinks temporarily so that some thing can get through, or any number of things. Or maybe just really bad IBS. It sure does sound like a blockage or partial blockage to me. But one thing is for sure, this is not right and you can't go on like this. Explain to your doctor how miserable you are, cry if you have to to get your point across, that you need help NOW. Take a few minutes and write down all the symptoms and all the things that are going on so that you don't forget anything. You would be amazed at the things we forget when we actually get our 5 minutes with the doctor. This is not something that you can live with. Please let us know how the appointment goes.

Oh and if you are dehydrated the water will help, but you will probably need IV fluids. But the doctor should be able to help. Make sure you tell him it is a concern of yours and stress how thirsty you are and how dry your lips are.

Hello everybody, its me again:

I just came from the doctor, and he didnt seem at all concerned about my symptoms. Says that its not likely that im dehydrated, and says that my dry mouth and lips is probably from the meds that Im on, but, i have been on these meds for as long as I can remember, he said it might be because im getting older, ****.

I really dont think that he cares, and couldnt be happier to see me move, so he doesnt have to deal with me anymore,

On a better note, he did send for some blood work and a urinalysis, which i requested. Last I checked, he was the doctor not me.

So i guess I will just suffer with this until it gets real bad, and i will have to go back to emerg.

Suzanne, it was a Gp, i have an appointment with a gi but its not until april grrrrrrrr.
The meds that I am on are prozac and lithium for depression and biploar type two rapid cycling.
All he told me to do, is try some of the lactulose, but only take a little bit, i find though that if i take a little bit, it doesnt make me able to go, and if I take a lot it makes me have d, so i dunno, its crazy
he use to be a very good responsible doc, but I think he thinks that im a hypochondriac, or something, he is not as attentive and concerned as he use to be.

I am moving to a different city on sunday, so hopefully I will be able to find a new gp soon. I kind of figured that he had washed his hands of me. He is busy, a lot, but still it is no exception. I will some day find out whats wrong with me, hopefully it wont be when its too far gone.

So I saw my family doc, and he basically washed his hands of me, sent me for some blood work only because I requested it, and said see you around. The only thing he told me to do different, was take some lactulose, so he wants me to become dependent on a laxative, thats really really smart doctor.
He couldnt find out what was wrong with me, and he knew I was leaving, therefor i dont think he was really interested at all.
I am indeed constipated again, this time, its only been since this morning, but holly jumpins, my stomach is big, cant really pass gas, and the last bowel movement i had, was not a very big one, little bit of constipation, and then some really skinny slimy stool, and that was it. I do not want to take the lactulose, because it makes me have diarrhea.
Im really stuck, and frustrated. Its almost like you have to be on your way to your death bed before they will really do anything, for crying out loud.
anyways, just thought I would give an update.
