So Very Happy To Find All Of You

I just stumbled upon this sight by accident and boy is it nice to hear that other people have the same things going on as me(too bad anyone has these issues at all tho) I have often felt that some of the things I have been through are unique and I have sort of been given the short end of the stick, so to speak.I have been reading over things that people have posted and so much has shed light for me and have gotten a lot of good advice.  Thanks to everyone.  I also like the fact that I can vent a little and have such wonderful support.  I often don't talk about what is going on because my husband worries so much and I hate to do that to him. 

I am a mother of three very active boys and did not think I had time to get sick.  I put off the D, and bloody stools for months until Christmas Eve two years ago when I could not stop throwing up.  I was hospitalized on Christmas Day with C-Diff and did not come home again until April,only to go back in two months to get all but 5 inches of my colon removed, which then came apart, which led to Emergency surgery and an ileostomy and another 5 week hospital stay.  I had the reversal in March but I have never really bounced back from all that, on the outside I look almost like my old self, but my guts tell another story.  Just had a scope and found that I have active C-Diff again - ugh!! (awfully sick and depressed about that. So after reading many different stories I am happy to see that I am NORMAL and I wanted to say a BIG

Welcome baaadgut, You have come to a great place to vent, get advice and support. Glad you are here but hate the reason you came. This is a wonderful group of people. Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry, sometimes we go HUH???, But it is never boring. I hope you get to feeling better it sounds like you've been through it.

Hi and welcome for the last 2 Xmas's I have been sick and like you ended up in the hospital for xmas two xmas's away and sick for my last one .So will be hoping this year is better for the both of us. It is great to be with others here that are helpful and knowledgeable on so many issues that we get to share. Will be looking forward to spending our Xmas together this year. lol gail

hey , and welcome.. curious , why the scope to find out about the Cdiff? seems rather wastefull and slow . any way, im sure ( at least i hope) you were givin instructions on how to minimize the recurance of it and a good treatment regimen. good luck and keep us posted

I'm so glad you found this site! Maybe what we aren't going through is normal to the rest of the world, but it is happening nonetheless and we definitely need support. Something you will not be short of here. You're always welcome to rant, and people will definitely listen.

All I could think when I read your post is 'dear god' but it sounds like in spite of that you're able to keep a positive attitude...I think more than medication that is the most important thing. Everything else seems useless without the support and good outlook...Keep going the way you are :) And please keep posting here!

Make sure to take a good quality Probiotic.....be careful, some probiotics deteriorate in their bottle once the moisture gets to the capsule.....

baaaaadgut.. yes clean everything ! the spores from the Cdiff will go airborne in the bathroom. they will be on the counter, towels, seats floor etc.. so then when you inocently touch the sink etc and then touch something else it transfers.. and can saty alive for a couple weeks if i remember right. even family members can be infected. . if you have the space maybe even using only one bathrrom at home would be helpful. bleach everything you can.
