Since you all are always so helpful...
I got a nasty root canal done earlier today (2pm) and now at almost 11pm I am still completely numb in my cheek on the side of the root canal site. Shouldn't the shots have worn off faster? Needless to say I'm getting a little freaked out as the left side of my face is completely immobile. I am sensitive to this type of stuff however...and the meds definitely made me nauseous.
How long does it usually take to wear off on you?

Usually 5-6 hours for me. If it's no better today, please call your dentist. Let us know how things go. Blessings, Julie

Sometimes dentists use a stronger numbing med when they have longer procedures to do, and sometimes it takes way longer than normal to wear off. I am sure all is probably okay by now.

When I had my wisdom teeth pulled, I was still a bit numb when I went to bed. It's kind of scary, but eventually it does go away.

You should get checked, sometimes they can hit a nerve and it can cause long term loss of sensation. Good luck.
