I haven't been on here in a while but it's been an interesting year. The last time I was on here i had the capsule stuck in my TI. I went to my GI's office to have it removed but he couldn;t get to it thru my rectum. I ended up going to the local hospital and being sedated so they could go thru my throat to get it. The good news is they were able to get the capsule out. The bad news is i have a laundry list of bad news.
While my GI was removing the capsule he noticed i had at least 4 different strictures in my TI. Plus i had a yeast infection in my throat and i was malnurished. I ended up being admitted into the hospital that day and put on a clear liquid diet(i won't eat jello or broth for a long time lol) and TPN. After a few tests he decided that there was no surgeon at that hospital good enough to handle my "special case" as he called it, i spent the next 5 days waiting to be transfered to a hospital with a surgeon that could handle my case. By the way the hospital i was transfered to was Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, and i cannot sing their praises enough. I did end up waiting another week before the actual surgery because they wanted to make sure my nurishment and blood cells were high enough to handle the actual surgery. During the surgery i had 2 1/2 feet of my TI removed and a stricturoplasty and it took about 2 hrs to complete. After the surgery i was doing fine until the sedation started wearing off. that's when all h*** broke loose. I started to feel extreme pain and the pain pump i had was not working. The nurse, who was fairly new, couldn't understand me(i had a tube stuck down my throat) and after i started throwing things at her(cups or whatever else was in my limited reach) she went and got another nurse who understood what i was saying and said she would get me one. After an hour i started screaming again and she said she had to get the doctors approval. At this point i was starting to get VERY irrate and the lead nurse came in and found out what i needed within 15 min i had a new pump with the highest dose of morphine they would allow and i felt SO much better and passed out.
The next morning the doctors came in and said i high heart rate from a low blood count that wasn't caused by the surgery and they feared my incision on the inside split open. I went and had a MRI after getting 2 pints of blood and luckily it did not split open. The next day i got 2 more pints of blood then had an endo and they discovered i had 3 ulcers which was causing the loss of blood. fom then on every thing went pretty good and 6 days after my surgery i was able to go home and my home nurse said i was healing very quickly. I thank my fiancee for that because when the hospital said eating protein will help me heal she went a little overboard but it worked and i have not had any abdomin pain since.
That was Feb and March but i won't get into the rest of the year right now becauce this has been a long letter already i just thought everybody would like to know how the stuck capsule ended up and thanks to everybody for their support.
