very high sed rate, can't get it down, feel lousy

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and how they might deal with it.... Since the beginning of my Crohn's diagnosis, some 8 years ago, my sed rate, which I know is a general inflammatory measure, has been out of control and no matter what, I can't get it to come down. It used to be in the forties and spiked recently to the nineties and is now sitting near seventy. The thing is... the higher it is, the worse I feel. My whole body is sore and stiff, I run fevers, my arthritis in my hands and knees gets much worse, even though my gut is pretty calm. The only thing that works is dreaded prednisone, but of course, I always get off it and zoom, the sed rate goes back up and I feel crappy again. Not even Humira has helped much... I'm now on Krill oil too, and it doesn't even appear to be helping, of course I can't take NSAIDS, any ideas?? Thanks guys.

Can I ask how long you were on prednisone to bring it down? I get on prednisone, and my sed rate comes down, but then once I'm off of it, it goes right back up! Seems I can't keep it down. I've only stayed on the pred for like a month straight.... is that not long enough? Any help would be so appreciated, thanks!
