I just got married in October, so I totally know how you are feeling. I was in a flare before my wedding too. Like you, my life was wonderful, but the disease was awful.
Here is what I did and what worked for me. Obviously, I am not a doc - this is just MY experience:
First, I deal with a lot of anxiety, so about
a week before the wedding, my doc had me start taking Ativan to calm me down day to day. This helped take away some of the jumpy/anxious feelings that were landing me in the bathroom even more than usual.
Prior to the wedding, I told the priest about
my disease and let him know that I may have issues during the ceremony. He was so wonderful and reassuring. Just knowing that he knew and there was no added "pressure" of having to be be perfect helped.
Second, the day of the wedding, I ate a light breakfast (english muffin with peanut butter) and some milk (I tolerate dairy with no prob). I drank some gatorade and water. After I pooped, I took 2 Immodium. about
an hour to two hours before the wedding, I did not drink anything.
Oh yeah, and I wore one of those big overnight pads, in case there was any small accident
I was just fine during the wedding. It goes by sooooo fast! I did not have any issues all day. I ended up dancing the night away!
Please hang in there and know that you will be surrounded by people who love you. Good luck and keep reminding yourself that you are marrying the man you love - THAT is what counts!
