Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for perianal Crohn's

Has anyone undergone hyperbaric treatments for perianal symptoms? My doctor is recommending the therapy, and we are currently jumping through hoops with insurance approval. I'd be interested in knowing how others have responded to this treatment, or in success in treating the condition by any other means. I don't have any fistulas or abscesses, but my condition is considered severe due to inflammation and friable tissue.

I don't recall anyone hear stating they have but there's always a possibility. I've wondered about this myself. Maybe someone will come along soon and give you a heads up. If not and the insurance approves this for you...please post your experiences for all to learn!

I've never heard of this...I have perianal crohn's skin tags (I don't have fistulas or abcesses either) and these stupid large, inflammed skin tags on my anus have literally been a pain in the arse for the last 18 yrs now. Ginger Elle, is that what you're referring to as well?

pb4 - That is part of it, yes. I have so much inflammation that when I was injected with anesthetic to do an exam, stitches were required to stop the bleeding. There is also bleeding, pus, and quite a bit of pain. If I don't find a way to treat this, protectomy/colostomy is inevitable. Right now, I want to save my butt!

sounds interesting... i too have the oh so lovely skin tags. I've found that this over the counter diaper rash cream "Triple Paste" I think it's called is pretty darn soothing. It doesn't make it go away, but it definitely makes walking around on irritated days a lot easier.
