I have tried this diet a few times, but its really hard for me to stay on it. I will do it for a few months hard core. I feel really well too when I'm on it. But for some reason I end up falling off it, the holidays will come or I'll get sick (flu or common cold) and I will want nothing to do with cooking the SCD foods. When I get off the diet, it becomes so hard for me to stay on it. I will tell myself every morning ok your going to do it today, but then I will cheat with chocolate or a piece of bread. Also my boyfriend gets mad at me when I dont stay on it, but he doesnt understand that its hard.
Does anyone have any suggestions, thoughts, or anything?

I've been on the SCD for a couple of months. So far, I haven't had any problems sticking to it *crosses fingers*. I'm the only one eating this way in my family, so I'm surrounded by illegal foods. I guess the reason I can stick to it so easy is because I fear getting sick. I don't want to end up in the hospital and I don't want surgery. That alone is pretty decent motivation for me to stick to the diet.
The other thing that helps is that I really like some of the food. Homemade yogurt is a favorite, and I have a couple cups a day (with honey). I also love the pecan butter brownies. I recently added peaches to my diet, and have been enjoying them a lot.
My suggestions are to make sure you always have legal treats around. Experiment with different recipes to come up with some foods you love to eat. Keep a deep freeze full of pre-cooked foods for days when you don't feel like cooking anything. And remember that the temporary pleasure of forbidden food just isn't worth feeling sick.

I know exactly how you feel! I was doing really good on SCD until I went on vacation in December. I haven't been able to stick with it since then. A big part of my problem is that I pretty much feel the same, off it or on it, so I'm not super motivated anymore to stick with it. My Crohn's just didn't really respond to it .....
My husband is just like your boyfriend-- he makes me feel so guilty when I cheat, and scolds me about
my diet. I know he means well and just wants me to be healthy, but it's annoying at times ;)
