Pico Salax

I have to go in for a colonoscopy tomorrow afternoon. The doctor told me to take two packets of pico salax today, one at 8am and another at 4 pm. I have been constipated for a week now because I have been taking codeine to help deal with pain. I didn`t start going until around 5pm. For the amount of time that I`ve been backed up, I would expect that there would be a lot more to come out but there wasn`t much at all. I don`t seem to have to go at all anymore (6pm).

Is this normal? is there anything else I should be doing to help clean out? I have been on clear liquids all day and drank A LOT of water

Hi That's what I used for my clean out and drank a glass of water every hour. It might come yet because I used to go till about 1am and the later part of the evening would really start up good. Best of luck with your scope. lol gail

I've taken it a few times, and because in the UK you're told to eat low residue foods the day before the prep, not much tends to come out! The prep has always worked fine for me and they can get a clear view inside. Good luck.
