hi

I hope that someone can help. 8 years ago my husband had an ileostomy and mucous fistula.  he went in hospital for a resection and came out 6 months later! the last 8 years have not been easy but that was mainly due to the complications that arose after surgery,not his actual Crohns. however, he now has bleeding from the mucous fistula and from his rectum. Has anyone any experience of this?  we have seen his consultant today and they are going to start tests but if anyone can put my mind at rest, I would be so grateful.

Yes, that can happen.  It varies from person to person the amount and frequency.  What kind of test will they be doing?

You should pop in on the Ostomy Forum...there are some great folks with a wealth of knowledge, many of whom lived with Crohn's for years before their ileos yeah

I was a member of the forum 8 years ago and it really helped me and my

husband through a very bad time.
