Abscess?? UPDATE!

I have a lump close to my anus that's large and tender and firm. It does hurt- but what's causing me the most pain is a hard very painful lump on my labia right at the entrance of my vulva. It hurts to sit, stand, walk and it seems to be getting worse. It started this morning and is ridiculously painful regardless of pain killers.

I'm on the verge of going to the ER, but tomorrow's Super Bowl sunday and I don't want to ruin it for my fiance, I'm sure that's lame.

Any help on what this might be and how to make it feel better would be appreciated.

UPDATE: Well, I went to the ER shortly after posting this- turns out I had three abscesses. One near my anus, and two on my labia. I had to have all three drained surgically and then I got to spend 3 more days in the hospital on antibiotics. I've been home a few days now and holy moly do I feel better! I didn't realize how long those things were causing me pain- I can sit normally again and move around and bend without pain.

I also got the exciting news that I have fistulas all over the place in there and that I'll have to have another procedure soon to deal with those.

I had the same problem, inside my vagina tho, turns out it was a fistula...they are extremely painful..it could also be an abscess.  Id say if it seriously hurts that bad go to the ER....Im from Pittsburgh and if I hurt that bad I would miss the superbowl to go to the ER, and that is a serious sin here...lol

Hun, don't just try to "suck it up" and endure the pain. If you get some help you might actually be able to enjoy tomorrow. If you really don't want to go to the ER, you could try using warm compresses or other warm, moist heat to the area. It does sound like you have an abscess and possibly an infected Bartholin's gland.

I have to agree... it sounds suspiciously "abscess"ey. If you're hard-headed enough to still be around, you might try some relief from a heating pad or hot bath. Other than heat, the only relief I remember was from keeping pressure off of the area (which was my butt, so I spent about a month on my belly - lovely, I know!). It really isn't something to suffer from tho... so don't try to be too tough. If it IS an abscess, they can rupture if you push your luck too far, and then your fiance's gonna have even MORE fun hospital stuff to deal with along side you. Not meaning to sound menacing... just been there! I hope you find some relief soon.

See your doctor right away or go to the ER. It certainly sounds like it is an abscess and fistula trying to exit in the perineum. The sooner you get the abscess drained, the better. The bigger it gets, the longer the healing time.

That sounds just like what I had. I had a Bartholin's abscess which after a year of failed antibiotic treatments, they finally acknowledged was a fistula. Just had initial surgery on it Friday. You really should get it checked out, you don't want to deal with it for a year like I did. I know how much that hurts. If you go to the ER they can drain it for you...which is also really painful but the relief you'll get after is worth it. Best of luck!!!! *hugs*

It freakin HURTS!!!!

I had bartholin abcess' a few times.

In fact I had one side of glands removed...

Just had a couple of abcess's drained surgically.
It's freakin painful, especially the repacking.
Good news is, it seems I can sit today!
Man it's been so long since I could sit normally.

My Advice go once you read this to the ER. I'm at the hospital becouse of that since one week and I'm going through asurgery because of that. it is realy Abscesses and very serious. go ER and forget the SB. Health comes first.
