It is a nerve block that deadens the nerves of the celiac plexus (look on google images). THese are the nerves that are responsible for the small intestine. It is normally used for intractable pain caused by pancreatic cancer, but has been used more and more often for chronic non-malignant pain, such as that of Crohn's. I am not sure if they will even do it, as it is a tricky procedure and may not be indicated for my pain, but I am oing to try. While the diarrhea and fatigue and arthritis have been hassles, the pain has crippled me. I have tried so many things, and nothing seems to work. I will keep you posted.
