Hi Guys, finally got the courage to go on a trip on my own after surgery

Hi Guy's,

how are you all doing? Really well I hope. Hopefully, all your crohns is under control and you are getting it good just now. As some of you know, I needed to have surgery and have a temp bag in. Well, today I was brave and managed to get out on my own today. No small trip either. I went over to Scotland from Ireland for the football today. Ok, bad game and my wee Celtic di not get the win, poor 0-0 draw, but it was well worth it. No accidents with the bag, mind I was wrecked afetr getting their on the flight. LOL... It only took 20 mins on the plane. But it felt like hours. I said to the flight attendent jesus, this plane is slower the a slug in a coma. lol.. But it went really well and I am so pleased with myself. That is a major step for me and now I can start to move on a wee bit.

It is strange how you can find the courage from within to get over your  shame and fear. Thanks to you guys for all your support!

thank you there's hope, and you screen name is brilliant! You know, fear is only the mind trying to control you, when it gets to that point your in trouble. I was in real trouble at the start, but I have not missed a Celtic V Rangers game in 15 years and was not going to miss this one.

doing the things you want to do even with this hard and at times embarrassing illness is how you stay in control!! I am a HUGE football fan (well they call it soccer here in the us but I still consider it football!). Played for many years and love watching a good game!
Its really encouraging to hear youre able to go out and do what you love! I am on flare too and what feels like lockdown, really getting to know my bathroom hahaha and I miss travelling! Keep in control of your illness and continue fighting crohns with courage! You may not be able to control much with crohns but you can always control how you react to it and handle it!!

gachrons, I kow, it is not a short trip, but I love my football and my Celtic, I walk over the sea if I had no leg to see them play. lol... I am really glad to hear that you are doing well. Good luck with your GI appoitment, I am sick of the sight of my GI... LOL...
