Hi all, I have had crohns disease for 4 years now. I was diagnosed with a dirty test. I am extremely allergic to anything sulphur based and tried every solution I know for a coloncoscopy. Does anybody know of any other way for me to have my crohns checked or if any one else has the same problem? I am only on mesasal 8 tablets a day plus I get remedial massage once a month. Preds are taken once in a blue moon. Any info appreciated.

Whats a dirty test? You might ask about a CT Enterography. This is the newest test out there and it shows quite a bit. Hope that helps.

I am scheduled for a colonoscopy next week and the normal prep always makes me sick. My doc prescribed MediPrep for me this time. I haven't picked it up from the pharmacy yet, so I don't know what the ingredients are.. just a suggestion if you want to look into it.

Maning I wasn't completly cleaned out when diagnosed. They could only just find that I had crohns disease. My sister has had crohns for 22 years, much worse than me. I have been lucky enough to have no surgery, one fistula only.
I will do some research into CT Enterography. Thank you

Thats the easy part, prep still won't stay down, puts me in really bad pain and vommiting.

I have great difficulty drinking that gallon of carp from the pharmacy.
What I do, is sort of a crash-course starvation diet of only clear liquids. I don't eat anything that could even try to make a formed stool. Liquids, liquids, liquids! I can drink plenty of water, I just can't drink that flavored carp.
I have found I can *barely* (heck, I'm cringing NOW just thinking about it) drink the very small container (2-3oz?) of Fleet Phosphosoda, washing it down with gulps of water. A poor runner-up is the 10oz bottle of Magensium Citrate also followed with plenty of water. I think I was given pills once, too. I think if I had a choice, I would do pills and water. No flavored carp, I just can't choke that stuff down.

My doc has me do an entire bottle of Miralax, the big one, mixed into 64 oz of Gatorade (not the red one!). I also take a couple of dulcolax before I start drinking the Gatorade. I've done that 4 times now with no problems.

I get 8 oz of fleet phospho soda put halve in a 8 oz glass with your choice of beverage. Wait an hour drink the other half the same way. Been doing this for several years. I would like to know how they ever got the name Go Lyte!

Thanks heaps, I've checked out the phospho soda, anything with the word sulphate rules me out. Im sure there is something out there. I think Ive confused myself!
