haven't been online in a while but really upset and need to talk to people who understand. I have been having horrible sharp abdominal pain in my lower left quadrant where my flare was at its worst last time. I am not having an increase in other symptoms but just this sharp stabbing pain. They ran a lot of diagnostic tests and a ct scan friday so i I get my results monday I believe. The ct scan results came back last night showing an increase in crohns activity in the left side of the colon where my pain is.
I had to miss work all week due to the intense pain and I am scared. I thought it would improve, like it was gas or something menial. I don't want to go through another flare! I thought the remicade was going to keep me in remission for a while :( just needed to vent. thanks for listening and any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated

Hi I had problems in that area too .How long have you been on the Rem. I know it didn't last long for me but hope you have better luck. What is your GI saying about
your pain issues? Hope you can get things going better for you. lol gail

I hope that you get better real soon. And you will, just think happy thoughts (I know its difficult) but negative thoughts make it worse. We're all here for you and hope that you have a speedy recovery.

This is where I have been having my pain. I also get the sharp pains. My Doc just put me on a high dose of prednisone and cortifoam (foam steroid that you take anally). I am hoping this will help, he said that the cortifoam will help because it will go right to the inflamed part of my colon.
I understand how much this sucks! I truly hope you get through the pain soon! I bought a heating pad which has helped. I get my husband to rub my lower back to, which helps.

gachrons-I started Remicade 2 years ago.. thought it was a saving grace as it gave me back my quality of life. My GI thinks it can be a lot of things, have a history of pancreatitis so has to check that out, he said it could be a variety of things including diverticulitus.. he wanted to run tests to see how my liver was and everything else. I talk to him Monday, if I can't take the symptoms or they get worse I am to go to the er. thanks for the support
lizard99- thanks, it is hard but I need to stay focused on positive thoughts to get through this. I hope this is a speedy recovery too!!
sassy- i had a steroid dependancy and am terrified of being put back on them. I will take anything I have to in order to get better, this pain is no joke!! I'm sorry you're feeling it too! Yea I feel it all the way in my back! I am gonna get a heating pad tomorrow and try that, heat helped in my last flare I totally forgot about
that!
thanks for letting me not feel so alone.

Hi Sounds like you have good Dr. and that is a comfort to know that the er is there if you need it ,some Dr.'s don't tell us that .Keep in touch on how you make out on the test, just keep in mind that things have a way of working out although there are times we wander if they will get better. lol gail

thanks gail, that is a comforting thought. i have a great gi dr and think that I may have said something early on enough to not let this one go as far as the last one. I will let you know what the tests say tomorrow! thanks again!

UPDATE
So I spent the entire night until the crack of dawn in the ER yesterday due to increased pain and pain in my upper left quadrant in addition to the lower left. My stool got pencil thin and the pain became unbearable. I am on my way to a dr appt to get a pain med for the weekend as I see my doc on Mon and should either be feeling better or onto another round of testing. My tests came back normal for the most part except my terminal illieum is thickened. We shall see what comes of this strange intense pain. I will let you know what happens Mon :)
